 What is Agriculture? |
How do you define the word agriculture? Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary states that it is the "science, art, or practice of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock and in varying degrees the preparation and marketing of the resulting products." Or simply put, Agriculture is the PRODUCTION, PROCESSING, MARKETNG and DISTRIBUTION of Food, Fiber and Fuel.

Agriculture is part of your daily life. Have you ever thought about where you get your toothbrush, blue jeans, school supplies or ingredients in a pizza? The answer is agriculture! Not only are they results of agriculture, they are brought to you by people involved in agriculture related jobs and careers. Here’s how ag plays a role in your life each day:

Put on your tennis shoes made form cattle or sheep, and your blue jeans and a shirt made from cotton. |
