S.K. Worm, the official annelid, or worm, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's
Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is now answering questions about soil on the
NRCS web site. At this fun site for kids, teachers, and just about anybody, S.K.,
which stands for Scientific Knowledge, guides visitors through 13 cartoon-bedecked facts
about soil.
S.K. Worm's job is to help make visitors to the site naturally
resourceful about natural resources and have a worm's eye view of that wonderful stuff
called soil. Those who tour the site can print out a certificate that notes their
new knowledge of soil basics and proclaims them to be honorary worms. This web site
may be entered through the NRCS home page at www.nrcs.usda.gov
